NYT Cooking App Reviews

Used to be my fave recipe app. Cant save now. Cant get into my saved recipes. The upgrade evidently means additional log in, use of personal accounts, gathering of data, who knows what else.

Ive enjoyed the recipes and the ability to save them to collections of my choosing. I had scores saved and referred to them several times a week. Suddenly they were wiped away when the app wouldnt accept my password and I had to create a new one. I have many of them saved to Evernote. Thats some consolation. But the convenient way I could find them on the NYT app is gone A four or five star app otherwise.

Thanks for this crummy update where at least 30 saved recipes have *poufed* into cyber-space now that I must "sign in". Really? So you can track my online activity & shill to me to buy from your partners? Load of crap, NYT.

My poor cookbooks are gathering dust because this site is so useful. I can save the recipes I like, the reviews from people who have made the recipes are very helpful and I like the variety of ingredients presented every week. I like this site much better than food blogs, mainly because of the reader feedback and rating system.

Its easy to read and easy to use.

This was a five star app until the recent update, which required me to sign in again, but would not allow me to reset my password. I deleted and reloaded the app, finally was able to reset my password, only to find that all of my many recipes I had saved in my recipe box were gone!

Lately Ive found myself a bit let down by a couple of major cooking apps. Actually, REALLY disappointed. One major publishers app is so over populated with "sponsored" recipes, their credibility has been shot. The other hipper, social media styled app seems to be more a platform for self congratulatory photography than a useful tool for anyone looking to figure out to do with their farmers market haul. And now Ive happened upon Cooking NYT. This app seems to have a deep collection of recipes AND a variety of ways to search for them. It has TECHNIQUE videos. How cool. You can save your recipes from the app AND FROM OTHER WEBSITES to your favorites! I cant wait to get started with NYT COOKING tonight! Saw the reviews relating to losing favorites with updates. This has happened to me with other apps and it is such a bummer. Hope that issue is resolved.

I love this app so much that I dont cook without it. You can save the ingredients in a note for easy shopping. And its a great space to save any recipe you find elsewhere on the net. Very easy to use.

Was loving this app (so much better than Pinterest) but with the app update I did today I found all but 3 of my saved recipes wiped clean from my account!!! Now Ill gave to find a new app to save them in.

I loved this app, especially the fact that I could save recipes not only from the times, but from elsewhere on the web. I built up a nice little collection, and referred to it often...and then following the recent update, had to sign in again, only to find my recipe box empty! Im not happy.

I love this app because it has so many wonderful recipes! I definitely recommend that you try Melissa Clarks recipes, specifically the traditional Porchetta.

Forces you to stay in app for shopping, prepping and cooking. Cant print.

Super easy to navigate and always helps me come up with something to make when Im in a rut. Like being able to see other users tips and comments

Love this app...recipes at your fingertips!

Like other users I had to re-log in today because of update only to find most of my recipe box gone. Too much work to create it again. Dumping this app. Wish I could give it zero stars.
